Douglas Baker, LICSW, began doing therapy work in 1984, as a
volunteer in a Boston homeless shelter. He completed his graduate
training at Boston University in 1995. He began studying mind/body
disciplines in 1995, including yoga, meditation, mindfulness-based
stress reduction, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing
(EMDR), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Emotional Freedom
Therapy (EFT). He obtained certification in EMDR in 2006. He
is a certified Kripalu Yoga teacher and a member of the Kripalu
Yoga Teachers Association. He is an avid outdoorsman and a devoted
father.
His
private therapy work is devoted to using the best available
modalities for his clients, combining traditional psychiatric
methods and integrative or "mind/body" tools. He is
a credentialed clinician at Cambridge Hospital in the Department
of Psychiatry.
